Today, I came across a series of talks about AI. Some of the key speakers include Ray Kurzweil and Douglas Hofstadter. I really like Kurzweil. Mainly because he always talks about the most extreme cases of where computation can take us. He's a dreamer and I like that. I think it's important if not vital to dream about the future. Plus he makes really awesome keyboards :)
Hofstadter is a bit more conservative saying that many of the things we speculate won't come true, but I disagree. Science is about dreaming up what seems impossible and making it possible. (Well, there are exceptions, but you get the idea)
There are a lot of great talks on the page. I wish I had more time to read up AI. There's so much more I wish I could study. (I don't know a thing about Neurology) Hopefully, I'll get some time in the future to work on my AI for Settlers.
